Texas Security Guard Requirements
Texas mandates that all security guards be licensed in the state.
All licenses in the state of Texas are handled through the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Bureau (PSB). PSB regulates the entire private security industry.
Licenses need to be renewed every 2 years.
Note: Applicants must be employed or in the process of being employed by a licensed security company before application can be processed.
