Kansas Security Guard Requirements


Kansas currently mandates that to become a professional security guard you must be licensed.
 
All Kansas licensing is regulated through the Kansas Attorney General's Office.
 
  • Applicant must be at least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • No diagnosed mental illness
  • No felonies or criminal convections
  • Pass a drug screening test
  • US citizen or registered resident alien
  • Fingerprint submission
  • Attend and complete a Kansas state certified training course
  • Armed Security Guards may require firearm training
