Georgia Security Guard Requirements
Georgia currently has no licensing requirements mandated by the state to become a professional security guard. Georgia does mandate that all professional security guard applicants receive 24 hours of training.
Aside from the 24 hours of training security guard applicants must meet the following standards:
- Applicant must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- No diagnosed mental illness
- No felonies or criminal convections
- Pass a drug screening test
- US citizen or registered resident alien
- Armed Security Guards may require firearm training
- Driver’s License
- Acceptable physical conditioning
- Ability to stand long periods of time
- Good Communication skills
