Infection Prevention - Online Education to Keep Healthcare Workers Safe, Confident and Effective
Critical Information Network (CiNet), LLC, and CiNet Healthcare Learning announce the release of the newly updated Infection Prevention curriculum designed to improve the safety practices of healthcare workers. The learning modules cover how infection is transmitted and present an understanding of the current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) hand hygiene guidelines. Guidelines to prevent acquisition of multiple drug-resistant organisms are also included in the modules.
According to the CDC, within the last 10 years, newly discovered infectious diseases have emerged in the United States and abroad. During this period, the worldwide resurgence of long-recognized infectious diseases has gained in force. As a result, healthcare professionals are faced with rapidly increasing threats from more powerful and drug-resistant infections. CiNet’s new Infection Prevention Series moves the balance in a positive direction offering critically important education.
“Infectious diseases today ignore geographic and political boundaries, and thus constitute a global threat that puts every nation and every person at risk,” said Barbara Acello, MS, RN. “Employees need tools to maximize personal awareness as well as to protect the safety and the health of those in their care. CiNet’s Infection Prevention training series offers a powerful educational dose of exactly what our industry needs right now!”
The eight-part AICC/SCORM compliant series includes these titles: Can MRSA Be Cured?, Keeping "Bad” Microorganisms Out, What Happens When Microorganisms Go "Bad"?, Reducing the Risk of Healthcare-Associated Infections, H1N1: Protecting Yourself and Those Around You, Infection Prevention, Proper Cleaning Techniques for Dirty Hands and Hand Hygiene: Protecting Those in Your Care.
Both clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals will benefit from this engaging online education series covering such topics as hand hygiene, reducing the risk of infection, and specific microorganisms. Continuing education (CE) credit is awarded through ANCC, ACCME, and ACPE. The content is constructed by experienced multi-media and instructional design professionals offering an engaging video-rich format, interactive learning activities and collateral materials available to support instructor-led training creating a comprehensive and effective blended learning approach.
“CiNet is proud to provide this vital and life-sustaining training series,” stated CiNet President and CEO Steve Albright. “CiNet’s Healthcare Learning content is developed by leading industry subject matter experts and instructors addressing the factors related to the spread of infections within the healthcare setting, including prevention and management.”
