Fire Rescue Training

These days, the American firefighter is often pushed to retain knowledge beyond the historical definitions of firefighting. EMS, HazMat and homeland security issues are just a few examples. As firefighters progress with their certifications and education, sometimes the most vital, basic self-preserving knowledge and practices get misplaced.

FETN's Fire Rescue training serves to motivate new and experienced firefighters and remind them of the responsibility for their own safety and that of the team.

Fire Rescue Training Benefits

  • Identify potential search and rescue locations/voids in collapse operations.
  • Understand the 10 search and rescue safety considerations according to International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) Essentials of Firefighting.
  • Understand building evacuation practices according to department policies and procedures.
  • Identify the five most common Safety Engine/RIT search techniques used to locate a downed or missing firefighter.
  • Identify the chief danger in moving a victim before treating injuries.
  • Identify fire company assignments and equipment and their purposes.
