Director of Education-Healthcare
BASIC FUNCTION
The Director of Education has overall administration and management responsibility for Healthcare education and accreditation including: direct overall curricula planning, educational activities design, content development, educational activities implementation and evaluation for Healthcare group's products maintaining high education standards, serves as Nurse Planner for ANCC accreditation, act as program administrator required by accrediting bodies assuring compliance with accreditation guidelines and criteria in accordance with national providerships and as set forth by state and national organization when providing continuing education activities, ensure overall educational quality of healthcare products, and contribute to new product development for Healthcare.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Develop curricula for Healthcare group, analyze needs assessment data research content topics, generate contacts and potential subject matter experts, consult with Healthcare Leadership Council, identify resources for content development, implement curricula plans, evaluate third party content, assure continuing education activities comply with the guidelines and requirements set forth by accrediting bodies.
- Oversee accreditation processes, ensure curricula for Healthcare group meet accreditation guidelines, approve methodology for determining individual educational activities Healthcare credit values, maintain ongoing dialog with Healthcare Accreditation Coordinator, Healthcare Accreditation Specialist, Vice President Technology and Director of Production regarding planning, development, accreditation, implementation and evaluation of healthcare services, develop, review, co-approve, and enforce policies and procedures affecting the development and delivery of high quality Healthcare educational activities, write the accreditation self-study reports for renewal of ACCME, ANCC, ACPE and other continuing education providerships, oversee individual Healthcare continuing education provider applications and providerships reporting, and provide feedback regarding overall quality of Healthcare products.
- Provide guidance to subject matter experts, content developers and content editor related to topic selection, content planning, instructional design, development and implementation of educational activities.
- Evaluate overall quality of continuing education and training activities, review activity materials for content accuracy, adherence to style guidelines and overall product quality, provide feedback to content developers and content editor regarding quality of activity materials, provide feedback to subject matter experts regarding quality of content.
- Interface with professional organizations to develop content partners.
- Manage Joint Sponsor, Co-Sponsor/Co-Provider relationships.
- Chair the Healthcare Leadership Council.
- Consults with development of new Healthcare products/services both accredited and non-accredited.
- Interface with Healthcare business partners, strategic alliances, potential customers and current customers for presentations and meetings related to current educational initiatives and accreditation issues.
- Present at conferences, workshops and onsite meetings.
- Support Healthcare sales initiatives through educational sessions, co-presenting to clients, conducting conference calls with clients, conducting training sessions for clients and serving as a resource.
- Support Healthcare marketing initiatives through presentations, client interfaces and other projects as requested.
- Collaborate with appropriate Support Service Manager(s) regarding functionality, processes, enhancements, changes, issues and concerns related to the following; Academy, LMS/Online education activities, Web site, CE application and evaluation data forms, Customer service, and Sales.
Interface with Healthcare Leadership Council and customers regarding ideas, comments, concerns and corrections related to curricula and/or accreditation issues.
- Maintain positive relationships with various national and state Healthcare accrediting bodies.
- Follow healthcare trends and issues impacting future programming.
- Act as healthcare industry expert for content developers, content editors, marketing team and sales team new product development, sales and marketing teams.
- Provide assigned personnel with knowledge, skills, training, tools, information, leadership, and team and individual development opportunities necessary to inspire peak performance and create a positive work environment.
- Work independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
- Develop Healthcare education and accreditation budget and budget policies.
- Provide assigned personnel with knowledge, skills, training, tools, information, leadership, and team and individual development opportunities necessary to inspire peak performance and create a positive work environment.

OUTCOMES
As Director of Education:
- Curriculum Map, Customer and Sales Management and Educational goals for Healthcare.
- Engage industry leadership groups and direct product strategy and surveys.
As Nurse Planner:
- Management of Healthcare content, Needs assessment from nursing customers and ANCC accreditation requirements.
- Manage and direct website content.
As Administrator of continuing education providerships:
- Management and audit content to align with the accreditation guidelines of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and other discipline specific providerships
- Author accreditation self-study reports for renewals and annual reports for national and state continuing education providerships
EXPEREINCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Five (5) years clinical nursing experience
- Five (5) years healthcare teaching experience
- One (1) year supervisory, Self-directed in both individual and team functions
- Curriculum development, instructional design, and program implementation experience Accreditation experience preferred
- Proficient decision making, process management, problem solving and time management skills
- Positive communication, customer focus and interpersonal skills
- Highly developed writing and teaching skills
- Analytical skills necessary to gather, trend and summarize data

EDUCATION
Bachelor Degree in nursing or a related field and Masters Degree in nursing or a related field *One degree, either baccalaureate or masters, must be in nursing.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas, in good standing
